Bobby Olszewski says Betsy VanderLey could push for tax increase if elected

Winter Garden Commissioner and Candidate for Orange County District 1 Bobby Olszewski is bringing attention to his rival, Project Development Manager Betsy VanderLey’s push for an Osceola County Sales Tax in 2010, and believes she would possibly push for another tax increase if elected to the Orange County Commission.
In his message Olszewski refers to VanderLey’s work as the head of the “Jobs for Osceola” Political Action Committee which promoted a 1% tax increase to fund bridges and roads (Sentinel story HERE). “Bobby O” as he’s known in the community contends that VanderLey advocated for the increase to drive revenue to her professional contacts in the engineering industry. The measure was ultimately turned back by voters.
